The Future is Bright (Noor Riyadh) – For issue 97, our covers show Carsten Höller’s Light Wall (2000/2017) and Squidsoup’s Submergence (2013–2021), two of more than 60 works featuring in Noor Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s major light art festival. As we emerge from the darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic, the installations serve as a powerful metaphor for this issue’s theme, The Future is Bright, in which we shine a special spotlight on young and emerging artists.
