Issue 94

September - October 2020

In the aftermath of the biggest man-made explosion in recent memory, Beirut Speaks brings you the voices of artists, architects, activists, designers and other leading professionals in the cultural sector as they seek to reassess and rebuild after the 4th August blast in the Lebanese capital. We sit down again with some of the key players we highlighted three years ago in The Rise and Rise of Beirut, take a walk through the areas most affected, focus on the diverse architecture that makes the city special, and engage with over 30 creatives, cultural institutions and art spaces to learn how they’re coping, what might have changed forever, and whether they see light ahead at the end of the tunnel.
