Issue 6-2

This issue marks our second Young Collectors section featuring young enthusiasts who carry a heavy weight of expectation, as we are all looking to them to raise the profile of Middle Eastern Contemporary art even further and to share their collections with a wider public. In addition, we travel to Europe to visit Galerie Kashya Hildebrand in Zurich and to London to find out about the Tate’s expansion if its Contemporary Middle Eastern art collection. On the same trip to the UK, Canvas meets Iranian-born Shirazeh Houshiary in addition to other featured artists such as Tagreed Darghouth, Gülay Semercioğlu and photographer Ahmet Ertuğ.
