Juliette Guiragossian graces the cover of this issue as Canvas had the pleasure to meet her for the first time. Despite the numerous articles and retrospectives published, her deceased husband Paul Guiragossian will never be described so passionately and elegantly as by Juliette. We dedicate this issue to the legendary couple whose eternal love burns bright through the canvases of one of Lebanon’s most celebrated modern masters. Meanwhile this issue’s art patron, Jawad Adra, unveils his collection housed in Chekka, Nothern Lebanon and Aline Saad opens her doors at the Kabale design company for us. In our gallery feature, Mona Hauser takes Canvas around XVA in the heart of old Dubai and we also travel to Damascus to discover the restoration of its beautiful houses. Additional artists featured include Paris-based artist Mireille Honein, Iraqi-born Nazar Yahya and Saudi photographer Manal Al-Dowayan.
