Issue 11-5

This Autumn we look forward to the 14th Istanbul Biennial and kick off a two-part feature on Modern Turkish Masters by Zeynep Uzuner. In our special features section, we also highlight Middle Eastern performance art here and abroad and examine the heavy role of artists in zones of conflict. In London, we review three exhibitions that provide an international stage for Arab talent and visit the eclectic and internationally-minded art patrons Izak and Freda Uziyel. In Dubai, we visit Grey Noise gallery and its unique conceptual art exhibits. Profiles this issue include the work of Michael Rakowitz, Hera Büyüktaşcıyan and Palestinian artist Khaled Jarrar.
