We look back at what the year 2014 brought us and the answer is a lot! We survey a variety of pivotal events related to the regional art scene that took place and remember the late greats. We also analyze who bought what among the regional and international institutions in the past months and the emotional highs and lows of the big yearly auctions. Middle Eastern art was also more prominent at a variety of fairs and galleries and at exhibitions from Beirut to Paris to New York to Porto. Finally, Canvas congratulates the art protagonists who have won awards this year and offers a variety of publications that are worth a read to start off the next year.
