This summer witnessed the inaugural edition of the MENASART fair in the Lebanese capital in addition to Byblos, Balabeck and Beiteddine Festivals. In the UAE, Abu Dhabi Art boasts with 50 international galleries and we are proud of an exclusive interview with HRH Princess Jawaher bint Majed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud in our art patron section. Overseas, Munich’s Haus der Kunst restages an exhibition celebrating Middle Eastern Art and Saudi Arabian art makes its premier forray at the Shanghai World Expo. We also visit Alexandria’s famous library, Rose Issa’s project space in London and speak to photographer Nazif Topçuoğlu in Turkey. Profiled artists this issue include Afshin Pirhashemi, Laila Shawa and Mahmoud Bakhshi.
