For our last issue this year, we share an intimate profile of Kuwaiti Sheikha Hussah Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah who was also featured in Treasury of the World in our very first Canvas issue. This time, we visit Sheikha Hussah at her home, where we see the incredible collection through the eyes of its guardian. In line with Chrismtmas coming up, we step inside the glorious churches of Coptic Cairo and the newly refurbished Coptic Museum as it approaches its centenary. Our artists this issue include Jamil Molaeb and his responses to the recent bombings in Lebanon, Thaier Helal who recently returned from the Carei International Art Symposium in Romania and Samer Tabbaa, one of Jordan’s leading cultural figures. Leading gallerist Samy Kinge speaks of his work to promote Lebanon’s artists in Europe, while designer Abdi Abdelkader talks of his rise to fame from the backstreets of Algiers.
